Are our "Lawmakers" too stupid to get it?
When we bought our new home home out in the woods, I gladly bought a bird feeder and I hung it on my back deck and filled it with seed. Hoping to enjoy the diversity of birds up close. Within a few days we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
Then the birds started building nests in the rafters of the deck, above the table, and next to the barbecue. and in the adjecent trees around the yard.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table...everywhere. Worse my new truck was plastered with bird crap... DAILY if not hourly.
Then some of the birds turned mean:
They would dive bomb me and my wife. Going to the mailbox required an umbrella. Then the birds began to peck and dive at me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
Others birds became boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. Too lazy to pick up what the spilled. Heaven forbid!
After a while the situation became so bad I couldn't even sit on my own deck anymore. I took down the bird feeder and within three days the birds were gone.
It took a few days but I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the yard. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quite, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now lets see...our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services. Small apartments are housing 5 or more families. You have to wait 4 to 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor. Your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English. Causing the teacher to spend more of her precious time working with those who don't speak english. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box. I have to press "one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Yet I wonder how many of them truely pay the taxes due on what they earn? How many of them have stolen someone's identity so they can "work" here?
Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

I did a little double take when you said "my wife..".. all this time I assumed you're a woman lol.
Hilarious story about the birds, almost makes me want to pass on the immigration issue. But I can't.
I'm gonna play Devil's advocate for a bit here.. It's interesting to me that this country started out as a another Siberia for criminals, out-laws, the persecuted, and the money-hungry. Then everyone saw opportunity and shot over as fast as the wind can carry the poor Mayflower. Not only that, people had the gall to try to annihilate the natives. This is a country of immigrants.. yet here we are grumbling about these immigrants doing the same exact thing our ancestors did. Do they have any less of a right to a better life than we did?
You say they're illegal, they disrupt the flow of our seamless "Americanism".. etc. Well, lets see.. we stole this land, we murdered and tortured the indigenous people.. and now we have the nerve to make aaall new laws and call these immigrants a nuisance.
A little hypocritical of us I think.

If you will look through my other posts concerning "Illegals" you will find I am all for immigrants. What I am against is those that don't come to this country in a legal manner and don't respect this nations laws and values.

i agree w/ you.... especially about schools and anyone getting american citizenship just for having a baby when it took me forever to get a passport for my own child and i'm pure american... born and breed.
you know, i've heard countless stories of how many ppl from this part of the world go there when their wives are pregnant so that she can have the baby there - just to get the citizenship. they go to the hospitals and then leave before paying the bills! no wonder insurance and medical costs have sky rocketed. it just makes me sick really.
i also don't believe that illegals should get free medical care and they shouldn't be allowed the liberties that americans get and most have to pay for, including their education. i agree in that children shouldn't have to suffer because of this, but they are.
i can't get over that corn flakes are now in two languages... wow... and here i thought i'd only see that in this part of the world.
i think that the govt should take down the bird feeder also.... fast, and something should be done about the neighborhoods that are being destroyed and all the criminal activity taking place by illegals... especially children being killed by molesters and such.
i know this is a long comment, but it's something i feel very strongly about.
