THINGS ABOUT ME and Points to Ponder....

I believe that the money I make and earn belongs to me. It does not belong to Congress. My MONEY is MY MONEY. Money isn't a Democratic or Republican!

Owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, no matter what the looney left might say. It makes you a smart American. I am proud to say Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns. Yes that is plural.. GUNS!

Being a minority does not mean you are noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. So get over it and be quick about it.

If you are going to sell me a "Big Mac", "Whopper" or a "BUCKET of Chicken" that is "Finger lickin' Good", for GOD's sake do it in English.

Everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. Public Schools included.A few of my heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry Springer. Barry Bonds is not one of my heroes.

I don't dislike the rich and I don't pity the poor. I know good people on all ends and levels of the wealth spectrum.

I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time arguing about it. Regardless it can fun to watch at times!

Me or my family have never owned a slave, and the last time I checked I didn't wander for forty years in the desert after being tossed out of Egypt. I have never burned any witches in Salem or been persecuted tortured or killed by the Turks and NEWS FLASH neither have you! So sit back and have a nice big cup of SHUT THE F^%K UP!

I want to know exactly which church the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Pat Robinson are ordained and affilated with. Where does their money come from, and why do both seem to be more of the PROBLEM that the solution. Do I hear an AMEN on that one?

Cops have the legal right to pull your ass over if you're breaking the law. Regardless of what color and hue your skin is. If you don't like being pulled over. Don't break the law.

I don't have a problem with my mug of a face being shown on my drivers license. It's common sense. DUH!

I am very proud that "God" is written on each piece of money I carry.

If you are too stupid to know how a ballot works then you shouldn't be voting. PERIOD. END of DISCUSSION. No rational person wants you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years if you can't figure out how to vote.

It takes TWO (2) parents to raise a child. It doesn't take a village .

Dunkin' joins program to verify if workers are legal
Chain's use of database to fire employees who don't check out angers advocates for immigrants
By Lisa Kocian, Globe Staff May 30, 2006
You may have already seen the signs popping up at your local Dunkin' Donuts shop: ``We follow the law! This company hires lawful workers only. " The signs, which have begun appearing in shops around Boston, make public the company's participation, starting June 1, in a voluntary federal program that enables employers to quickly check the immigration status of new hires.
Dunkin' Donuts is requiring all of its franchisees to participate in the Basic Pilot Program, which allows employers to verify a worker's status using online databases from the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

The company chose to participate in the program partly because it sometimes receives complaints from customers who assume its workers -- especially those whose first language isn't English -- are in the United States illegally.
Some advocates for immigrants dislike the program because they say the databases contain errors, which could lead to people being unfairly fired.
THE REST OF THE STORY IS HERE:

It is about time Dunkin Donuts followed the law. Yesterday I witnessed FIRST HAND at Dunkin Donuts how this new "policy" works. IT WAS SUCH A PLEASURE not having to repeat my order 2 or 3 times to a NON ENGLISH SPEAKING EMPLOYEE!! Hells Bells I only had to give my order ONCE and to top it off I got what I ordered! WOW!!! And to all those detractors that say AMERICANS won't do these types of jobs, well I didn't see any shortage of help there. Somehow I feel a tad liberated about this and so should every other person who has been forced to suffer with the task of dealing with ILLEGAL WORKERS in a very public and retail location. Now excuse me while I go and grab a cup of coffee and a donut at Dunkin Donuts!

THREE THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:
1. COWS 2. THE CONSTITUTION, and 3. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

COWS: Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give them all a cow.

THE CONSTITUTION: They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and we're not using it anymore.

TEN COMMANDMENTS: The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse.. You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians -- it creates a hostile work environment.

Thanks to "THE COLONEL" for sending me this!

the gray and white feral cat.....

Regular poster and future CerebralWaste Hotseat Interviewee TOONERS has a great post about feral cats in Bahrain. Click the link above and check it out as well as her blog.

Tooners my heart felt condolences for your loss of Chloe.

There is one tamed feral cat that I know of in Bahrain.. the most famous of all "Naturalized" Bahraini Cats. SHOUFY the Cat. Shoufy was born a wild feral cat on the mean streets of Saudi Arabia. Now she leads a very pampered life in Bahrain. I miss Shoufy. Though I am not sure she misses me. Except for Shoufy's desire to bite into me which she does with great ease I might add. I am sure she misses that! Still in a crazy manner I am sure Shoufy "loves" me in her own cat like way. Someone once said "you don't own a cat.. they own you." I sure believe that!

11 Things Todays KIDS Haven't Leanred But Need to KNOW!
Here's an excerpt from the book Dumbing Down our Kids by educator Charles Sykes. It is a list of eleven things you did not learn in school and directed at high school and college grads. To anyone with kids of any age, or to teachers, here’s some great common sense advice. The rules express how feel-good, politically correct teachings have created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this thinking has set them up for failure in the real world…Special thanks to THE COLONEL for passing this on to me!

Rule #1: Life is not fair…get used to it.

Rule #2: The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The REAL world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

Rule #3: You will not make $40,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule #4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule #5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for flipping burgers…they called it opportunity.

Rule #6: If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes; learn from them.

Rule #7: Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listing to you talking about how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule #8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This does not bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

Rule #9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get the summers off. Very few employers are interested in helping you to find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule #10: Television is not real life. In real life people have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule #11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you might very well end up working for one.

Iran eyes badges for Jews
Law would require non-Muslim insignia
Chris Wattie
National Post

Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.

"This is reminiscent of the Holocaust," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. "Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis."

Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical "standard Islamic garments."

The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.

Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth. "There's no reason to believe they won't pass this," said Rabbi Hier. "It will certainly pass unless there's some sort of international outcry over this."

Bernie Farber, the chief executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, said he was "stunned" by the measure. "We thought this had gone the way of the dodo bird, but clearly in Iran everything old and bad is new again," he said. "It's state-sponsored religious discrimination."

Ali Behroozian, an Iranian exile living in Toronto, said the law could come into force as early as next year. It would make religious minorities immediately identifiable and allow Muslims to avoid contact with non-Muslims.

Mr. Behroozian said it will make life even more difficult for Iran's small pockets of Jewish, Christian and other religious minorities -- the country is overwhelmingly Shi'ite Muslim. "They have all been persecuted for a while, but these new dress rules are going to make things worse for them," he said.

The new law was drafted two years ago, but was stuck in the Iranian parliament until recently when it was revived at the behest of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. A spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa refused to comment on the measures. "This is nothing to do with anything here," said a press secretary who identified himself as Mr. Gharmani. "We are not here to answer such questions."

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has written to Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, protesting the Iranian law and calling on the international community to bring pressure on Iran to drop the measure. "The world should not ignore this," said Rabbi Hier. "The world ignored Hitler for many years -- he was dismissed as a demagogue, they said he'd never come to power -- and we were all wrong."

Mr. Farber said Canada and other nations should take action to isolate Mr. Ahmadinejad in light of the new law, which he called "chilling," and his previous string of anti-Semitic statements.

"There are some very frightening parallels here," he said. "It's time to start considering how we're going to deal with this person."

Mr. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly described the Holocaust as a myth and earlier this year announced Iran would host a conference to re-examine the history of the Nazis' "Final Solution." He has caused international outrage by publicly calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map."

Iran does not yet have nuclear weapons, but Tehran believed by Western nations to be developing its own nuclear military capability, in defiance of international protocols and peace treaties. The United States, France and Israel accuse Iran of using a civilian nuclear program to secretly build a weapon. Iran denies this, saying its program is confined to generating electricity.

Is there any doubt what Mr. Ahmadinejad's intentions are? If there was ever a case for the 50 cent solution this is it. What will it take for the WORLD to WAKE UP and take a stand against this type of behavior? Please note I said THE WORLD and I don't mean the UN who I doubt will do much if anything. Will any MUSLIM or ARAB leader decry this latest BRAINFART out of IRAN? I doubt it.
As such a region already in flux with sectarian strife and polarization, will I fear, slide further down a very slippery slope by its very leaders keeping their collective heads in the sand or worse, using this issue to whip up more anti west sentiment to keep their own peoples growing and prying eyes off the ball that is in play in their own back yards.

Same ole story, same ole song and dance.

Only this time Iran is very soon going to be capable of spreading its holocaustic revisionist desires on a NUCLEAR level.

The only hope I see is with the Iranian people themselves. Who the vast majority by all accounts do not subscribe to the wishes and desires of its "leadership". I do wish for a reasonable and prudent outcome to solve this ever growing and lingering problem. If that reasonable and prudent outcome rests with a 50 cent bullet then so be it.

UPDATE!!!! 5-21-06!!!!!My good friend and fellow shawarma eater Chan'ad has informwed me all may not be what it seems. He has posted some links in the comments section concerning this. I do hope this is the case.....Please read and ENJOY!!

New York's School Cell Phone Ban Causes Uproar
By NAHAL TOOSI, AP
NEW YORK (May 12) - A ban on cell phones in the nation's biggest school system is creating an uproar among parents and students alike, with teenagers smuggling their phones inside their lunches and under their clothes, and grown-ups insisting they need to stay in touch with their children in case of another crisis like Sept. 11. Parents have written angry letters and e-mails, staged rallies and news conferences, and threatened to sue. Some City Council members are introducing legislation on their behalf.

But Mayor Michael Bloomberg and schools Chancellor Joel Klein have staunchly refused to drop the ban. They insist cell phones are a distraction and are used to cheat, take inappropriate photos in bathrooms, and organize gang rendezvous. They are also a top stolen item. Students have refused to give up their phones, saying the devices have become too vital to their daily existence and to their parents' peace of mind. Some parents would prefer a policy that lets students have cell phones but prohibits their use in classes.

New York's 1.1-million-student school system has banned beepers and other communication devices since the late 1980s. But schools have long used an "out-of-sight, out-of-trouble" approach. Then, late last month, city officials began sending portable metal detectors every day to a random but small set of schools to keep out weapons. And the detectors have led to the confiscation of hundreds of cell phones.

New York has one of the country's toughest policies on student cell phones, and also bans other electronic devices such as iPods. Detroit bans cell phones, and a two-time violator will not get the phone back. Boston relied on a school-by-school approach until recently, when it changed the policy to let students have a phone, but only if it is turned off and out of sight. Los Angeles lets kids have cell phones, but they can use them only during lunch and breaks. Kenneth Trump, president of Ohio-based National School Safety and Security Services, said his research indicates most schools ban the phones. Others require students to turn off the devices during school hours.

New York principals said the ban is tough to enforce, especially in large schools without metal detectors.

Elizabeth Casanola sneaks her cell phone past the metal detectors at her high school by slipping it down her pants, just below the waistband, where she knows she won't be patted down. Once inside the school, another tactic is to hide the phone in a sandwich roll, according to one principal. Some students leave phones at nearby stores that charge small holding fees.

"It's kind of ridiculous that we think we can't survive without a cell phone when people did it for thousands of years," said Elisa Muyl, 14, a freshman at Stuyvesant High. "But now that they have this invention, we should use it."

I can only think of ONE reason a person in school needs to be allowed to carry a Mobile Phone or beeper during school hours. That reason is if and ONLY if said student or a family member if awaiting an organ for transplant. Other than that I can't really think of a reason why phones should be allowed in school. If there is an Emergency like the death of Aunt Sally or Uncle Leo you can call the school like parents and family members have been doing since Alexander Graham Bell's invention was placed in the schools.

Now before I am accused of being a technophobe I have a cell/mobile phone. I don't care for it either BUT the cost is MINIMAL and I can justify it for the business. Even though I have had this phone for less than a year and prior to that I was without a cell phone for over 10 years. I got along just fine without one and did when I was in High School as well. Though I do remember a kid I graduated with having a "beeper" (Cell phone where to new back then and very expensive) he carried with him all the time. He was awaiting an Organ Transplant and of course needed to be ready to go at a moments notice.

Of course if you have a different view than by all means post it!

An "Illegal" Idea.......
A couple of days ago I had a thought concerning the question of just how prevalent are "ILLEGAL ALIENS" in the workforce? So I have decided to document where I run into them during my travels and I post them on this blog. I encourage you to do the same. I am looking for the names of companies, locations, dates and telephone numbers of the firms you witnessed the ILLEGALS working at. (Or as much info as you can provide.) Please post the info here or you can email me and I will do it for you.

Rep. Patrick Kennedy Crashes Car Near Capitol
By ANDREW MIGA, AP
WASHINGTON (May 4) - Rep. Patrick Kennedy crashed his car near the U.S. Capitol early Thursday. He denied alcohol was a factor.
"I was involved in a traffic accident last night at First and C Street SE, near the U.S. Capitol," Kennedy, who represents the New England state of Rhode Island, said in a written statement released by his office Thursday afternoon.
"I consumed no alcohol prior to the incident. I will fully cooperate with the Capitol Police in whatever investigation they choose to undertake," Kennedy, son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, said in the statement. It was issued after news reports surfaced about the accident.
According to news reports, the single-car accident happened around 3 a.m.
Capitol Police did not immediately return phone calls for comment.
Kennedy, 38, spent time at a drug rehabilitation clinic before he went to Providence College in Rhode Island. He has openly discussed his personal mental health problems, including having been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Early this year he spoke about having been in recovery "for depression, for alcoholism and substance abuse."
Kennedy is the son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and his former wife, Joan Kennedy.
Copyright 2006 The Associated Press.

Hmmmmmm.... Let's all think about this for a second. Patrick "Patches" Kennedy is an admitted drug addict and abuser of alcohol. Bi-Polar to boot but we won't hold that against him. His father is a well known world class drunk, and to some a MURDERER. Joan his mother is also a well known "Lush" on the social scene. It is 3:00 AM on a weeknight when this "accident" happens. MMMMMM Sounds like probable cause to me to assume BOOZE or some other "controlled substance" most likely played a factor in this incident. A single CAR accident as well. Regardless let us ALL be thankful that at least another Kennedy hasn't taken an innocent life while driving a car... This time... But what the heck. It isn't "Patches" fault he has these problems. Just look at the ROLL MODELS he had growing up. Yeah right......

Sheriff to Start Posse Patrols to Curb Illegal Immigration Flow
(CBS 5 NEWS) - Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced Tuesday that about 100 volunteer posse and Sheriff's deputies will soon begin randomly patrolling the desert areas and main roadways in southwest Maricopa County as apart of an operation to stem the flow of illegal aliens entering the county. Arpaio made the announcement just as 11 more illegal aliens were being booked in jail after a Ford Windstar with California plates and 16 people packed inside was stopped by a Sheriff's deputy early Tuesday morning on a traffic violation near Gila Bend.
Despite the growing controversy about illegal aliens nationwide, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office remains the only Arizona law enforcement agency willing to enforce a new state anti-smuggling law. "There are so many illegals trying to make it into the county that it's overwhelming my deputies, so I have called on members of my 3000 member volunteer posse to assist," says Sheriff Arpaio. "It's not only illegals we find and arrest out there, we've also made some recent huge drug seizures involving illegal aliens including nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately three pounds of heroin."
Posse member Andrew Ramsammy, who was part of Tuesday's arrest team, says that he believes he represents many of his peers when he says that the posse is anxious to be a part of the Sheriff's solution to the immigration problem. "As a group of law abiding people, we are fed up with the number of people who come into this county illegally. We're tired of the drugs that some of them bring to sell to our young people and we're ready and willing to assist the Sheriff's deputies in the fight against illegal immigration," says Ramsammy. Sheriff Arpaio says Tuesday's arrests include two coyotes, one of whom may be charged with a far more serious offense - endangerment. Virgilio Parra Sabori may face a class 6 felony charge if it is determined that he recklessly left one of his customers to die in the desert. That customer, who may have paid as much as $1100 to gain entrance into the country, was a 24-year-old Mexican male found near death by deputies who combed the desert earlier Tuesday after being told by other people in the vehicle that one man was left behind. That young man was found lying in the sun on the desert floor and is currently in serious condition in a west valley hospital. Arpaio says his deputies so far have made seven anti-smuggling cases in the last few weeks alone and that 120 illegals have been arrested and jailed.
Arpaio houses 10,000 prisoners in his jails, including almost 2000 in a tent city he erected in 1993. Tent City is being expanded to hold an anticipated increase in of inmates being incarcerated in the Maricopa County jails.
